Midmark Hosts Weeklong Dental Education to Students at their Global Education and Experience Center
In late March 2023, Midmark hosted a cohort of eight fourth-year veterinary students from Auburn at their global education and experience center on their Versailles, Ohio campus for a week of dentistry lectures and hands-on labs. Drs. Barden Greenfield and Paul Mitchell donated their time to provide the training alongside VTS dentistry and anesthesia trainers. Each student was matched with a Midmark-trained Heartland Veterinary practice where they spent the following week for an immersive externship in general practice dentistry. The Foundation for Veterinary Dentistry provided a $5,000 grant to help defray the trainer’s travel expenses.
The program exceeded everyone’s expectations and plans are underway to expand the program to a second school for 2024. Thank you to Board Member Dr. Barden Greenfield, DAVDC and Dr. Paul Michell, DAVDC for their time and support to these students.
